THE ARTWORK

How do you select your artists on Full Picture Art?

The quality of the artists and the work we present to you is the most important thing we do. So we hand-select every artist and every piece of work on Full Picture Art. We see a large body of work from each artist often visiting their studio in person, we interview them at length, we research them, and only if we believe they are worthy of international attention, do we work with them to select which works to display at Full Picture Art.

Can I buy this work elsewhere?

All the work on Full Picture Art (excluding Limited Editions) is exclusively available to our customers.

Can I contact the artist myself?

Yes! We want our customers to be able to really engage with art and artists, so we don’t put up any brick walls. Just go to the work you’re interested in and click ‘ask the artist’.

What is a Certificate of Authenticity?

Every piece of artwork we sell comes with a Certificate of Authenticity direct from the artist. We think this is important for our buyers as it assures the authenticity of the work, and is a useful document should you ever wish to re-sell it. It contains specific details of the artwork, and is signed by the artist.

Will the art look the same as it does online?

We never use any enhancements of colours when displaying our artworks, and our super zoom function means you can see the real details of a work – down to the textures and brushstrokes. Also, our ‘view in a room’ function means you can get a great sense of scale.

Today, much of the art industry uses digital imagery to decide on artworks – even major galleries often select work for exhibit in this way.

How do create my own shortlist of art or leave a comment?

We just need to be able to recognise you to do this. So go to ‘sign up’ at the top of any page, and pop in your email and a password. That’s it.

SHIPPING

Do you ship internationally?

Our aim is give people the world over access to the best Indian contemporary artists – so yes, we do!

How will my artwork be shipped?

Once you’ve bought your artwork, it will packed by the artist to exacting guidelines ensuring safe travels, and be shipped direct to your door. It will also be insured in transit so, in the very unlikely event that something happens to it along the way, it’s covered. We work with world leading couriers (DHL for international shipping, Aramex across India and professional fine art shippers for very large items) to provide competitive rates and great service.

How long will it take to arrive?

It really depends on where you are. Across India, we aim to get your artwork to you well within 14 days. Internationally shipping takes a bit longer – you should allow 2-5 weeks. If you need your artwork by a specific date, please get in touch and we’ll do all we can to help.

How can I track my order?

We’ll keep you informed of where your artwork is via email, and SMS if requested. Once our couriers have it, we’ll give you a link so you can track it online. You can also check your account on our website – just log in at the top of any page.

Why are some works shipped ready to hang while others require framing?

There are a number of things that affect whether an artwork is ready to hang or not.

  • For large artworks, it is usually safer to ship them rolled
  • For large works especially, it is far more cost effective for our customers to frame a work locally, than to frame it and ship it.
  • The artist may feel the frame is integral to their work, and so provide it framed in particular way
  • Buyers often prefer the freedom to frame a piece of art to their own taste and requirements

Sometimes you may just want your art ready to hang, regardless of the points above. If so, just get in touch and we’ll work out the additional costs and logistics for you.

PRICING & PAYMENT

How is the artwork priced?

Our aim is provide a fair price for our artists’ work. We also work hard for our buyers to ensure what could be considered a similar work (e.g. size, materials, same series), is not available for less elsewhere. In the unlikely event you find this to be the case, please let us know.

What about tax and duty?

If your artwork is being delivered in India, tax will automatically be added to your total at the checkout. If your artwork is being delivered internationally, any tax due is payable on delivery. Original and limited edition art usually carries a much lower tax rate than manufactured goods, and in some countries it's actually zero (something we at Full Picture wholly endorse!). Here are some guidelines on original art tax rates to help you - UK 5%, USA 0% (but will charge $25 customs processing fee), UAE 5%, Singapore 7%, Germany 10%*.  If you want to check tax and duty for your location before going to checkout, a site like www.dutycalculator.com can help.

How do I pay and is it secure?

Payment is both secure and straightforward.

Full Picture Art uses secure payment gateways (PayPal internationally and EBS in India), and is a secured site with SSL encryption. Through our payment gateway partners, we enable online verification and authorisation of payments.

Internationally, you can pay with any major credit or debit card, or via your PayPal account if you have one.

In India, you can pay with any major debit or credit card, and via netbanking for major banks.

CANCELLATIONS AND RETURNS

Can I cancel an order?

Yes, you can cancel your order any time before it has been shipped, so it’s important you contact us quickly if you wish you do so. Send us an email entitled CANCELLATION REQUEST to support@fullpictureart.com. Be sure to include your order number and full name so we can process it quickly.

We do everything we can to ensure you are delighted when your artwork arrives. It’s important to us that you enjoy your new artwork so, if for any reason you’re not happy, you can return it. Please just follow the instructions here where you can also see our full cancellations and returns policy

What if my artwork arrives damaged?

Despite everyone’s best efforts, artworks can get lost or damaged – thankfully it’s rare, but it can happen. All our artwork is insured in transit, so it’s important you follow these simple instructions.

Ideally, you should open the artwork straightaway while the courier is present, note any damage on their delivery note and get in touch us straightaway at support@fullpictureart.com.  If that’s not possible, make sure you notify us within 7 days* of your delivery date, confirming your order details and providing photos of the damage. We’ll then get in touch with you to discuss next steps which may differ depending on the type of damage.
